尼崎市内でも人気の住宅地、武庫之荘での計画である。この住宅の敷地は、親が住む母屋が建つ敷地内にあり、そのことが、この住宅の形状を決定付ける上で、特殊な条件となった。敷地の北東寄りに母屋が建ち、その南には庭が広がっている。そして、建築が許されたのは、母屋の西側の5m程度の空きスペース。ここに、母屋より低く、母屋の南側を塞がず、母屋の深い軒をカットすることがない、住宅。その結果、幅3m、奥行き20mの住宅を計画することになった。絶対的な幅の制約によって限られた室内空間だが、縦横の両軸線上にある外を取り込み、外を「外部空間」に変えることで縦軸、横軸に広がりを与えた結果、幅が3mしかないはずの住宅だが、全くその幅の制約を感じさせない室内空間が完成している。

This project is located in Mukonoso, a popular residential area in Amagasaki City. The site for this house is on the same lot as the main house where the parents live, and this was a special condition that determined the shape of the house. The main house is built on the northeast side of the site, and a garden spreads out to the south. The only space that was allowed to be built was about 5m of free space on the west side of the main house. A house that is lower than the main house, does not block the south side of the main house, and does not cut the deep eaves of the main house. As a result, a house with a width of 3m and a depth of 20m was planned. The interior space is limited by the absolute width constraint, but by incorporating the outside on both the vertical and horizontal axes and turning the outside into "external space," the house is given width on both the vertical and horizontal axes, and as a result, the interior space is completed in which the width of the house, which should only be 3m, is not at all felt.
