This is a two-story wooden house for a family of three located in Tsuruga City, Fukui Prefecture. This is the third house for us to design in the Hokuriku region, and like the previous houses, snow measures are essential. The natural environment has a large impact on the architectural form, but that alone is not interesting. This time, there is a lush green park open to the local community next to the site. We cannot help but incorporate this individuality. Of course, Nosakayama (a symbolic mountain in the area) can also be seen in the distance. As we proceeded with the design under such conditions, the result was a little different from the previous two houses. It is to make the natural environment feel close to you, rather than confront it. It opens to the outside, and the view you want to see is cut out in the place you want to see it. The view cut out like a painting shortens the distance between inside and outside, making you more conscious of the "outside". We wanted the client to enjoy these various "views" cut out every day.
