T-Square Design Associates

尼崎市内に建つこの住宅は、南側には比較的広い道路、西側には住宅街に入る道路がある南西角地にある。依頼主は家族で鉄工所を経営していることもあり、仕事の合間に趣味程度に鉄の家具を色々製作されており、初めてお会いした時にそれらの作品写真を見せて頂いた。そして、ご自宅でも自身で何か作れたら良いというお話から今回の計画は始まっている。色々と検討を重ねた結果、コールテン鋼なら、外部に使用出来、入手及び加工が自社で可能＝コストを抑える事が可能ということで、使用材料が決定された。そこで、敷地条件を活かし、鉄の表情が全面的に外に現れた建物に出来ないかということから、建物南側には全面開口部を設け、その前面には全面コールテン鋼のルーバーを製作し、2枚の木壁の間に挿入している。時間を掛けて錆びる様子を楽しむ事が出来る住宅である。

This house, located in Amagasaki City, is located on a southwest corner lot with a relatively wide road to the south and a road leading to a residential area to the west. The client runs an ironworks with his family, and makes various iron furniture as a hobby in his spare time. When we first met, he showed us photos of his work. The project started with the idea that it would be nice to make something at home. After much consideration, it was decided to use Corten steel, which can be used on the exterior and can be obtained and processed in-house, which means costs can be kept down. Therefore, taking advantage of the site conditions, we created a full-opening on the south side of the building, and made a full-length Corten steel louver in front of it and inserted it between two wooden walls. It is a house where you can enjoy watching it rust over time.
